SUMMARY:Kicking Off With Hope The Grand Chapo\, Dance & Wellness Festival
DESCRIPTION:Date: Saturday\, January 3rd\, 2026Location: Bamao Field\, Njiru WardTarget: 2\,000 Children & YouthTime: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM \n\nTurning “Njaanuary” into a Celebration of Dignity\nJanuary is often the toughest month of the year for families in Eastlands. The festive lights fade\, and the reality of food insecurity and school fees sets in. But at YIDP\, we believe the new year should start with abundance\, not anxiety. \n“Kicking Off With Hope” is not just a tournament; it is a massive community intervention. We are converging 2\,000 vulnerable children from Kayole\, Njiru\, Dandora\, and Matopeni for a day where they can just be kids—playing\, dancing\, eating\, and preparing for the school year with dignity. \nWhat to Expect\nWe are redefining the typical feeding program through our “Winning Together” format: \n\n\nNon-Competitive Soccer: U10\, U13\, and U15 friendly matches where there are no losers. The focus is on teamwork and fun. \n\n\nDance & Mental Wellness: Professional dancers leading mass Afro-beat and Zumba sessions to promote mental health and stress release. \n\n\nThe Grand Chapo Feast: A hot\, dignified banquet for 2\,000 children featuring the ultimate comfort food—Chapati and Stew—served by our partners and volunteers. \n\n\nBack-to-School Drive: Every child leaves with a pack of exercise books and pens to ensure they are ready for class. \n\n\nThe Dignity Drive: We are distributing Sanitary Towels for girls\, Innerwear for boys\, and Detergent/Soap to ensure every child walks with confidence. \n\n\n\nOur Wish List: How You Can Help\nWe cannot cook 19\,000 Chapatis or kit 2\,000 children alone. We are seeking partners to adopt the following needs: \n\n\nThe Food: Wheat Flour (65 Bales)\, Beans\, Cooking Oil\, and Vegetables. \n\n\nThe Dignity: Sanitary Towels\, Boys’ Innerwear (Boxers/Briefs)\, and Laundry Detergent. \n\n\nThe Tools: Exercise Books (A5) and Ballpoint Pens. \n\n\nThe Logistics: Tents\, Chairs\, and Mobile Toilets. \n\n\n\nGet Involved\n1.
