Empowering Youth Through Sports and Mental Wellness

At the Youth Initiative Development Programme (YIDP), we believe sports is the ultimate tool to engage young people in meaningful conversations about mental and physical health. Our Mental Health Module is uniquely designed for various age groups, integrating life lessons into the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). Every session—whether in a field or hall—embraces our theme: “Kick Off the Ball for Mental and Physical Health.”

Using our signature Mind Balls—soccer balls branded with mental health messages—we spark engaging activities that promote emotional well-being. Guided by trained coaches, school games teachers, and psychologists, our program builds resilience, emotional intelligence, and positive habits for life.

Why We Do It

  • Promote Early Interventions: Equip young people with tools to manage stress, build self-esteem, and form positive relationships.
  • Normalize Mental Health Conversations: Use sports to break stigmas and encourage open dialogue about well-being.
  • Support Holistic Growth: Help youth navigate personal, academic, and social challenges.
  • Encourage Lifelong Habits: Foster physical and mental wellness as complementary practices.
